At the same time facing your biggest fears in life can also be the most challenging. Wherever there is great adversity there is always great achievement.
Some of fears are worse than others and some are completely irrational fears. What I am going to show you in this page is how even the toughest fears and phobia's can be overcome.

According to Richard Bandler, one of the creators of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) there are only two fears that we are born into the world with. Fear of loud noises and fear of falling. The rest are merely learned behaviours. And we have learned the fear of everything!

Where does fear come from and what is its purpose?
When mankind started walking around on two legs we didn't understand things like biology, physiology, chemistry or psychology. We understood pleasure and pain but not much more. As we began exploring our environment we discovered the basic things we needed to eat to survive. Food, shelter, clothing. Albeit primitive, that was our learning and evolution in progress.
We also learned that the world was not always so welcoming and there were many elements that created a physiological response that we now call fear. You may have heard these referred to as fight or flight responses. Depending on the level of the threat, the response would indicate that we had to take some focused action in order to survive.
As we became familiar with those threatening experiences, such as coming face to face with a tiger, the fear response became conditioned. Next time you saw a tiger, you automatically recognised danger and faced the fear.
You have already learned how to face your fears and also how to overcome them. It's written in your blueprint.

Some say that on the other side of fear lies your wildest dreams. It doesn't matter how big or small, or even how bizarre. Haven't fears or phobias held you back long enough?

If you get a flashing light on your cars dash, you go to the mechanic. If your thoughts and emotions are affecting your results you should consider life coaching. Neuro means function of the brain. Linguistic means how we represent our experience in language. Programming refers to how we learn, code and store information about our experiences in the unconscious mind.

One of the powerful yet unexpected transformational tools in the NLP practitioners belt is confusion. Confusion plays an important role in disconnecting the neurological wiring and thought patterns. Metaphorically speaking.
Thoughts are impulses in the brain that follow established networks that create emotional responses including fear. When you create a sense of confusion about a specific experience, it can become difficult to trigger the emotional response that is usually related to it. Facing your fears is like the road less travelled so likely to fire a whole different emotional response.
The client becomes confused that the old conditioned response isn't working. This is the perfect opportunity to lead the mind to a completely new emotional response, which is far more desirable than the old one. Imagine replacing fear with a sense of excited curiosity.
That may sound a little dramatic, but when a client who has a fear of flying says that become physically sick because they have a family holiday and the flight is a couple of weeks away, which is more dramatic? Sometimes interrupting the old pattern is all it takes. Finding the correct neural program to unravel is often more challenging which is why this works best in a one to one with a life coach.
